A G D A
I got you, you've got whatever's left of me to get
A G D A
Our conversations are like minefields; no one's found a safe way through one yet
A G D A
I spend a lot of money, I buy you white gold

On Southwood Plantation Road
         A D
Where at night the stars flow like milk across the sky
A E
   Where the highwires drop
A D Dm
   Where the fat crows fly

A G D A
All night long, you giggle and scream
A G D A
Your brown eyes deeper than a dream
A G D A
I am not going to lose you; we are going to stay married in this
A G D E

From 'The Sunset Tree' by the Mountain Goats.

Capo 2 - There are 2 chords in the original song that are
fairly difficult to transition to so I transposed the song
to make it easier for beginners.

All chords are capo relative.

Cadd9 = E--3
        A--3
        D--5
        G--5
        B--3
        e--3

VERSE:

     G                      D
I broke free on a Saturday morning
           C            G
I put the pedal to the floor
     G                  D
 Headed north on Mills Avenue
              C             G
And listened to the engine roar

G    Bm    Cadd9    G

G    D     C        G

    G                          D
My broken house behind me and good things ahead
              C                          G
A girl named Cathy wants a little of my time
     G                        D
Six cylinders underneath the hood crashing and kicking
 C                         G
Ahah, listen to the engine whine

CHORUS:

               G                    D
I am going to make it through this year
       C           G
 If it kills me
               G                    D
I am going to make it through this year
       C           G
 If it kills me

G    Bm    Cadd9    G

G    D     C        G

VERSE:

          G                D
I played video games in a drunken haze
       C        G
 I was 17 years young
         G                       D
Hurt my knuckles punching the machines
              C                 G
The taste of scotch rich on my tongue

G    Bm    Cadd9    G
G    D     C        G

          G                      D
And then Cathy showed up and we hung out
         C                        G
Trading swigs from a bottle, all bitter and clean
         G             D
 Locking eyes, holding hands
           C             G
 Twin high maintenance machines

BRIDGE:

Em                              G
I drove home in the California dusk
Em                          G

Genesis 30:3

Tabbed by FlyOnTheWall

While the above version is fine and dandy if you want to play on piano, here's the best way to do it on guitar. The result is actually a very beautiful song.

Capo 1

G A C D

G A
For several days the visitors were here
C D
We saw them turn down and we watched them disappear
G A
Talked about the days they said were sure to come
C D
Had a hard time believing

G A

G A

New thought of the moment!

Thinking is producing thoughts!

THOUGHTS!

    Posted 2017-12-08 20:40:24

I might put a little "Enable embeded content" toggle at the top and leave the embeded items out until it is switched to On -- the youtube stuff pulls in all kinds of ads and crap.... might put a toggle for the Disqus comments as well, we shall see.

    Posted 2017-12-08 20:38:06

I haven't put pagination in yet

    Posted 2017-12-08 20:37:53

Well that's weird.... Might need to heavility configure CKEditor..

Cell 1 Cell2
Cell3 Cell4
CELL 5 CELL 6

Thoughts on styles:

Don't use them. (Should remove that tool...)

CKEditor seems OK, but I need some better embed functionality.

A special container for my thought.
    Posted 2017-12-08 20:21:06

Looks like I'll need to wrap the embed responsive code around the iframe only :-/

Hmmm...

    Posted 2017-12-08 20:20:14

dang.. if I put a video in with the bootstrap class it wont render the comment it right :-/

Hmm...

Well, done editing this for the day.

This site uses the Slim framework (v3) -- pretty nifty for sticking simple sites together.

Also -- All your thoughts will belong to us.

    Posted 2017-12-08 19:20:09

Some thoughts are more important than others.

Remember, everyone:

  • Not all thoughts are created equally.
  • Not all thoughts will be remembered.
  • Even fewer thoughts will be shared.
  • Very few thoughts will be stored in digital format.
  • Even fewer thoughts will matter.

one more thought on that
